About the Role

Southern Cross Financial is seeking a detail-oriented Marketing & Content Coordinator to join our growing Client Experience & Marketing team. This part-time role is perfect for a marketing or communications student looking to gain hands-on experience in the financial services sector while studying.

Working directly with Lisa Kwan, our Client Experience & Marketing Manager, you'll be responsible for creating engaging content across our digital channels while ensuring strict compliance with ASIC regulations and financial services marketing requirements. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in regulated marketing, content creation, and client communication within Western Australia's leading boutique financial services firm.

As we navigate the evolving regulatory landscape and work to modernise our client experience while maintaining our personal touch, you'll play a key role in helping us communicate effectively with our high-net-worth individual and corporate clients across WA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Creation: Develop compelling content for monthly client newsletters, social media posts, website updates, and marketing materials that comply with financial services regulations
  • Regulatory Compliance: Work closely with our Head of Compliance & Risk, Annabel Tan, to ensure all marketing materials meet ASIC disclosure requirements and industry standards
  • Social Media Management: Maintain our LinkedIn and professional social media presence, engaging with clients and prospects while adhering to strict compliance guidelines
  • Website Support: Update website content, case studies, and service descriptions to reflect our evolving service offerings and regulatory requirements
  • Campaign Support: Assist with email marketing campaigns, client event promotions, and thought leadership initiatives
  • Market Research: Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to inform content strategy and positioning
  • Administrative Support: Maintain content calendars, coordinate with external suppliers, and support the broader marketing function

What You'll Bring

  • Currently enrolled in a marketing, communications, journalism, or related degree program
  • Strong written communication skills with attention to detail and grammar
  • Basic understanding of social media platforms and content management systems
  • Interest in financial services and willingness to learn about regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools preferred
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Professional attitude and understanding of confidentiality requirements
  • Availability to work 20-25 hours per week, with flexibility around university schedule

Desirable but not essential: - Previous experience in financial services, professional services, or regulated industries - Knowledge of ASIC regulations or compliance frameworks - Experience with email marketing platforms and website content management
